Buying the Leaves for the Different Teas

Thomas P:  Can I buy Hawthorn leaves at the grocery store?

MJJP:  Hi, Thomas.  Grocery stores do not tend to sell true herbal remedies.  Here in Canada we have health food stores.  I found Hawthorn, Violet, and St. John's Wort leaves at a health food store way out in the countryside.  It was locally picked, dried, and packed into clear plastic containers.

Hawthorn grows all over North America as a wild bush, so in the springtime, go for a walk here or there and look for the leaf.  Just air dry them, and then  pack them into an airtight container and label container.

The health food store that sold them to me years ago has since closed, so I am going to go for walkabouts.  Also, I am going to ask at my garden centres if I can order the plant -- try both possibilities.
